Description

Product story:

  1. The use of single-use plastic bags or “reusable” plastic bags pollutes the surrounding landscape. As plastic bags take over 1000 years to decompose, they degrade the soil, fill landfills, obstruct decomposition, and pollute water bodies.
  2. Cotton produce bags, on the other hand, reduce the use of plastic bags and serve as a viable alternative. When they are no longer needed, organic cotton bags can be composted safely, leaving no trace behind.
  3. Did you know? Produce begins to emit ethylene gas as it sits and ages, which is what causes fruits and vegetables to rot so quickly. Our Mandi bags’ breathable cotton fabric allows ethylene gas to escape, whereas plastic bags trap it inside. Who’d have guessed that those “free” plastic bags ended up costing them money!
  4. Reusable cotton bags aid in the reduction of land, aquatic, and environmental pollution. They contribute to a more environmentally friendly alternative, which solves the plastic problem while also being convenient for people.

Instructions to use:

  1. The cotton fabric keeps the fruits and vegetables crisp and fresh. Spray any leafy greens once you get home from the market, blot off any excess water, and place them in our Mandi bag while still damp.
  2. The damp fabric in this bag will keep your produce fresh and crisp for up to a week in the fridge. Check on these items in the fridge on a regular basis; while this method extends the life of produce, it will eventually go bad. Don’t waste your food!
  3. To keep the bags in good condition, hand wash or machine wash them in cold water between grocery trips or when dirty. Sundry the bags after wash.
  4. Decompose in a compost pile if you decide to get rid of the bags.
